Wonderful win for Webster
England’s Steve Webster won the Portugal Masters with a superb closing round of 64 at the Victoria Club in Vilamoura.

One behind Argentina’s Daniel Vancsik overnight, the 32-year-old from Nuneaton was in the joint lead after going to the turn in a four-under 32, then took command when he sank a nine-foot eagle putt on the dangerous long 12th and followed it with a birdie two.

Webster, whose only previous European Tour victory in over a decade as a professional was the Italian Open two years ago, went on to add two more birdies and did not drop a shot until the tournament was in the bag at the last.
